Blake Equipment Water Treatment Product Manager - East Windsor, CT

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

Responsible for managing the life cycle of water treatment products by overseeing the marketing mix (price, place, promotion, and product). Coordinates pricing strategies to offer a competitive advantage at a profitable margin and meets company sales objectives within the sales category. Implements processes and projects to develop the products and their applications within the market segment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with sales representatives and customers to size products for specific applications, provide product specifications, and develop/assist with custom quotations
  • Works with internal and external customers to ensure that products work properly after installation/implementation
  • Help identify and manage new customer and/or market opportunities by branch to meet local sales growth objectives
  • Assists employees and customers with product information and pricing information
  • Ensures that promotional programs and tradeshows have the best collateral in order to sell the product and attends industry tradeshows
  • Develops and manages product-pricing strategies, including special promotions
  • Answers customer inquiries regarding product applications
  • Analyzes product costs and profitability and recommends or creates action to improve product margins
  • Recommends improvements and additions to the existing product line
  • Assists in preparing catalogs, instruction manuals, and marketing/promotional literature
  • Provides training for employees and customers
  • Assisting with quotes by helping the salesmen get the correct information to provide accurate quotes
  • Riding with salesmen to target accounts
  • Travel to locations in need of training
  • Assist customers with start ups
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned

POSITON QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills and Abilities

  • Writes routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effectively communicates information and responds to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with vendors, internal and external customers, the general public, and other employees of the organization.
  • Works with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of sizing water treatment equipment.
  • Practical problem-solving and trouble shooting skills
  • Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
  • Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Utilizes common-sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Plans the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work; may also occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
  • Frequently makes decisions of both minor and major importance, which may affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele to a moderate degree.
  • Uses noncomplex machines and equipment (adding machines, calculators, copy/fax machines, etc.).

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, marketing, or a related field preferred. Experience may offset.
  • Min 5 years’ experience in water treatment industry
  • Wholesale industry experience a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
